Punctuate is looking for an Industrial Design Intern to join our team in Montreal and work on products that matter, to the people who use them and to the world they'll live in. This is a hands-on role for a design student or recent graduate who wants to see how real products get made, from concept sketches all the way to parts coming off a machine. You'll be a real part of the studio, contributing to live client mandates from start to finish. We ask for 5 to 6 months so we can really get to know each other, and a strong internship can lead to an extension or a permanent role. Next intakes are flexible, let's talk about timing.
What you'll do
- Contribute to live mandates. Work alongside our designers on real client projects, from research to concept to prototype
- Sketch, model, render. Turn directions into inspiration boards, sketches, 3D models, and visuals that move a project forward
- Push concepts further. Develop and refine promising concepts, not just execute them
- Prototype and test. Build physical prototypes on our Bambu Lab printers, run iterations, and help figure out what works
- Bring your questions. Ask why, not just how. The interns who thrive here stay curious about the reason behind every choice
What we're looking for
- Enrolled in or recently graduated from an industrial design program
- An inspiring portfolio: strong sketching, conceptual thinking, and creativity
- Aesthetic sensibility balanced by a thoughtful, user-centered approach
- Solid CAD and visualization skills: Rhino, Fusion 360, SolidWorks or Blender, plus Illustrator and Photoshop
- A hands-on mentality and a real interest in prototyping, materials, and how things are made
- A humble, self-driven attitude and a genuine desire to learn
- Comfortable using AI tools in your workflow, with the curiosity to figure out where they help and where they get in the way
- Comfortable in French or English. A bilingual studio, mostly French day to day
- Eligible to work in Canada, or already have a clear plan for your work permit or visa
